How to Enable Developer Mode on iPhone and iPad
Starting with iOS 16, Developer Mode was introduced.
If Developer Mode is not enabled, you won't be able to install apps developed in Xcode onto your device.
Even if you connect your device, you'll see (Developer mode disabled) displayed as shown below. If you try to install the app, a warning message will appear and the installation will fail.
To enable Developer Mode, open the Settings app and go to Privacy & Security.
Scroll down to the Security section and tap Developer Mode.
Turn Developer Mode ON.
Your device needs to restart, so go ahead and restart it.
While restarting, you'll see the message “Ready to Enable Developer Mode - Swipe Up to Continue.” Swipe up and tap Enable to turn on Developer Mode.
Next, you'll be prompted to enter your device passcode. Enter your passcode to continue.
Developer Mode is now enabled.
When you check in Xcode, the (Developer mode disabled) message is no longer displayed, and your device now appears under the iOS Device section instead of Unavailable Device.
That wraps up how to enable Developer Mode on iPhone and iPad.
